It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Warren Lewis Symes. He was a very special man and will be missed by many. Warren passed away suddenly after a brief battle with lung cancer on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in his 63rd year with his eldest daughter, Jennifer, by his side at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario. 

Warren was born on April 26, 1958 in Barrie, Ontario. He started working at a young age in shipping and receiving at Lakeview (Beatrice) Dairies where he worked for 27 years. He also worked at Canadian Tire and Alliance Billiards before starting at Bardon in shipping and receiving where he continued to work for many years into his retirement. He had an amazing work ethic and always took pride in his work. Warren loved watching sports live and on tv with his children and talking about the game. He loved having his grandchildren over to visit and watch movies, national geographic or history channel. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s various activities to cheer them on. He always spoiled them with candies, hugs and scratchers. Warren enjoyed fishing with friends and family and always had lots of fishing stories to share. He was in a bowling league for many years where he was given the nickname “Slimer”. He was also an avid dart player and well known in the community for his dart skills and love for the game. Survived by his wife and mother of his children, Denise and loving long time best friend, Joan. Loving father to Jennifer (Bruce), Katie (Shane) and Alan (Tammy). Adored Papa to Chelsey, Hunter, Brooke, Theodore, Emily, Ally, Connor, Brayden and Bailey. Warren was a family man and there was nothing he loved more than making memories and making people laugh. His laugh was contagious. Despite the pain, he stayed strong until the very end. His love and devotion to his family was evident in every way and will forever be remembered.

Celebration of life to be held at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Marshall W. Driver Cremation & Burial Service 19 Ross St., Barrie, ON.
