Passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 15 2022 surrounded by his family in his 80th year. Loving husband to Teresa ‘Terry’ Smyth (Czirjak) for 53 years. Cherished father to Stephen (Sarah), Mark (Lesley) and Peggy Robb (Gary). Loving Papa to Emma, Nathan, Amelia, Keira, Gerard, Owen and step-papa to Beth-Ann.
Survived by his brother Greg (Bunny). He will be missed by his many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leonard was a dedicated railroader and spent 37 years working with the Canadian National Railway as a supervisor and inspector. He had a passion for trains since a young boy which lead him to his career and his hobby of building model railway trains.
Visitation will take place at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent St., Barrie) on Thursday, January 20th from 2-4pm followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John Vianney Parish (13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie) on Friday, January 21st at 11am. Proof of vaccination will be required to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at the Toronto General Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
