Hazel Newport passed peacefully at University Hospital, London Ontario. on Wednesday, December 26th, 2018 in her 95th year.
Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Slavin (1982), and the late Wilfred Newport (2000). Esteemed step-mother of Barbara Zierfuss (Newport). Loved sister of Betty Walton. Cherished aunt of Clyde Walton (Rose), Will Walton (Heather) and Linda Richards (David). Will always be remembered by her six great-nieces, one great-nephew and one great-great-nephew, as well as her two step-grandsons and their families. Fondly remembered by special friend and trusted advisor Michelle Deschamps.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 30th, 2018 at 11 am at the Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, 21 Grosvenor St., London. A Spring interment will be held at the Barrie Union Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations to the Parkinson Society of Canada, I.O.O.F. Seniors Home, Barrie, or to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Toronto, would be appreciated.
