(September 29, 1939 - December 30, 2015), vivacious singer, lover of books and needlepoint, adoring Baba, and beloved mother of Lida (Doug), Stacy (Doug), Sandy (Max), Jerry (Lydia) passed away suddenly in the afternoon of December 30, 2015 at the Royal Victoria Regional Hospital in Barrie, Ontario. Jean was born in Toronto to Mike and Helen Novak, but made Barrie a lifelong home for herself and her family. She worked as a library assistant and school secretary at Andrew Hunter Public School and was a member of the Barrie Huronia Soundwaves Chorus, a chapter of the Sweet Adelines International, for twenty-one years. Jean had an amazing eye for detail and decor.
Jean is survived by her sister, Lillian (Michael), and brother, Michael. She is lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren Jamie (Jann), Megan, Travis, Keiffer, Sam, Charles, Jake, Raychel, Hattrick, Tatum, and Aidan, and her nephews Steven (Elizabeth) and Joe (Nicci).
