Peacefully passed away at the Serenity Retirement Residence, Barrie on Wednesday June 27th, 2018 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy. Dear father of Yvonne (Don) Boniface, Terry (Debbie) Schmidt, Rick (Veronica) Schmidt, Susan (Robert) Nahorney. Proud grandpa of Heather, David, Lisa, Chris, Richard, Jessica, Nicole, Amanda and Cassandra. Proud great grandpa of Ashley, Hailey, Alyssa, Kaylin, Keyerra, Dylan, Kinley, Josie, River and Declyn. Loving uncle to the entire “Coffey Clan”. Always loved and remembered by other dear family and friends. Friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Road, Barrie on Friday July 6th, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8pm. A funeral mass will take place at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Saturday July 7th, starting at 10 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society designated towards research towards prostate cancer and are greatly appreciated.
