RIED, Henry

Henry Ried, 76, died at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario, on September 19th, 2016 with his family surrounding him. Henry was born on December 15th, 1939 in Bremen, Germany and moved to Canada when he was 14 years old.  He was a resident of Beaverton from 1971 to 2014.  For most of his professional life, he was a franchise owner with Dempster’s Bread.  Henry loved the water and spent many happy hours boating and fishing at Lake Simcoe.  He is survived by his wife Joan; brothers Wolfgang and Walter; many sisters- and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.  As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice through the Jennett Funeral & Cremation Centre, 152 Bradford Street, Barrie L4N 3B5 (705-722-6656).
