The Reverend Allan James Perks of Barrie, ON passed away peacefully on February 17, 2016 in his 81st year. Allan was born in Oshawa and raised in Newmarket to James Allan and Margaret (Angus) Perks. Allan graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts and a post graduate degree from Divinity School. Ordained in 1961 by the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec, he served congregations in Ontario in Southampton, Port Elgin, Athens, Delta, Burtch, Scotland, Woodstock (church plant), Beachville and Flesherton. Additionally, Allan served in ministry at 100 Huntley Street and in retirement, was active in his local church.

Married for 57 years to Ruth (Watson), he was a loving father to Heather (Rick), Jennifer (Don) and Kevin (Dawn) and grandfather of eight. We will all remember him for his hard work, sense of humour, love of music and farming along with his passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 550 Grove St E, Barrie ON 705-728-5801. Visitation will be at 10 am, Service at 11 am followed by a luncheon reception. Interment will be at a later date. 

Donations in memory of Allan may be made to Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) or Into All the World missions.
