RAPOSO, Firminia

Surrounded by her family, she peacefully passed on the afternoon of May 20th in Barrie, Ontario. Born on June 1, 1928, Firminia grew up in Sao Bras on the island of Terceira in Portugal. After being married to Jose Raposo and having three sons (Paulo, Vital and Fernando) she moved with her family to Canada in 1971. She was a beloved mother and grandmother of 7 (Sandra, Carla, Lenny, Shannon, Kiara, Andre and Mark). Her great heart was full of love and laughter that she showered on her grandchildren and her 11 great-grandchildren who together, will mourn her loss. She was predeceased by her husband Jose in 2011 but will be forever remembered by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will all miss her very much. She will forever live in our hearts.

Guests will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 from 5-8 p.m., with service being held on Friday, May 24th at 11 a.m. inside the Chapel. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Memorial donations in Firminia’s memory may be made to a charity of choice and is greatly appreciated by the family.
