POUND, John Gad (Jack)

Formerly of Scarborough, Peacefully in Barrie, on Easter Sunday April 21, 2019 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Olwyn, loving father of Helen Stephenson (Rob), Joan Graham (Chris), Robert (Lynda) and Barbara Pound Martin (Bryan). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Natalie, Graham, Raphael, Michael, Shawn, Sophia and Chloe and step grandchildren Nicole and Christopher. Brother of Bill, and the late May Stathers and Nell Arnold, all of Hull England.
Jack was born in Hull, England where he studied art, rejecting the seafaring tradition of his family. He served in the RAF during WWII and subsequently immigrated to Canada. Jack enjoyed a long career with the Ontario government rising to Chief Cartographer. A family gathering to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at a later date.The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the many staff of Victoria Village Manor, Barrie, who have provided wonderful and compassionate care to Jack over the past several years.
