At The Barrie Manor, on Saturday, November 26th in her 85th year. Lois was a vibrant and resilient woman who had a wonderful love of her family. Lois was born in Ottawa and grew up outside of Peterborough in Norwood. She started her nursing career in New York City where she loved to look after newborn babies. She graduated from nursing school in Peterborough and stayed in touch with many of the graduating nurses from her year. Once her family was grown Lois recertified in gerontology at Georgian College in Barrie and continued her nursing career. Lois Winnifred Stackhouse, beloved wife of Edward (Ted) Pigden of Barrie. Dear mother of Martin Arthur Pigden (Nancy ) of Barrie and Kathryn Irene Hodgson (Lauren) of Ottawa. Loving grandmother of Kristen, Stacy & Thomas and Kate (Joel), Sarah, Michael and Joel. Dear sister of Joan Laing (Bill predeceased) of Lakefield, the late Dr. John Stackhouse (Yvonne), and the late Arlene Rasmussen (Bert). Also survived and loved by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the JENNETT FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE, 152 Bradford Street in Barrie (705) 722-6656 on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 170 Steel St. Barrie on Wednesday, November 30th at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Barrie Union Cemetery.
