August 25, 1937 – July 2, 2020

We are announcing the passing of Thomas Henry George Park after a brave struggle with pulmonary fibrosis over the past 5 years. Beloved Husband of the late Norinne Park (nee Haight), Father to Tom Jr, and daughters Danielle (Cory), Deirdre (Brad) and Jordana (Patrick). Grandfather to Quinn, Spencer, Paxton and Vale. Cherished spouse of Brenda Martinek, Blue Mountains, Collingwood. Survived by his sister Marie Jones, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Tom was an adored Uncle of many nieces and nephews both in Ireland and here in Canada.

Tom was a very multi-faceted human being. He immigrated to Canada from Belfast in 1958 at the age of 20 with $5 in his pocket and a dream. Granted a scholarship to study at the University of Toronto Opera School, he went on to perform with the Canadian Opera Company. Not only was Tom a gifted Tenor opera singer, actor and performer, but he was also an accomplished mason and builder. He provided new homes and renovations to many people throughout Simcoe County and abroad during his career.

He was an avid hiker, movie buff, music enthusiast, and outdoorsman. He loved camping, fishing and singing by the bon fire. He had a passion for travel, and he saw multiple countries and experienced many different cultures throughout his lifetime. He loved to share his passion for travel with his children, and we all benefitted from new experiences living abroad at one time or another during our lives. He was truly a one of a kind human being. No one will ever compare in terms of his passion, insight and vigour. We are honoured to have known him; more than he ever realized.

We are mourning his loss now and forever.

Funeral Arrangements Entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.
