Beloved Norinne Audrey Park (nee Haight) passed away at Grove Park Home, Barrie on October 16, 2018 in her 79th year, after a long struggle with dementia. Adored daughter of Gilbert and Irene Haight (predeceased), sister of Gilbert and William Haight (predeceased), wife of Tom Park, beautiful mother of Tommy, Danielle (Cory), Deirdre (Brad), and Jordana Kennedy (Patrick), loving Grandma to Quinn, Spencer, Paxton and Vale, much loved aunt and sister-in-law.
Norinne graduated from teacher’s college at age 20 and had her first position teaching eight grades in a one room school house in Anten Mills, Ontario until it closed in 1963. She went on to teach hundreds of elementary students over four decades and returned to her own studies to complete a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and music when she was 46.
Norinne was artistic and creative and was always making crafts, throwing dinner parties, gardening, making award-winning pies, and doing charitable activities all at once. Her energy was inspiring and warm to all who came into her orbit. She was a remarkable spirit, full of enormous love and is greatly missed by all who had the honour of knowing her.

Guests to be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home 30 Worsley Street, Barrie on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 1 to 3 pm until the time we celebrate Norinne’s Life inside the chapel at 3 pm. Refreshments to follow. We look forward to sharing memories of Norinne before her illness.
