(Aug 23, 1947 – Mar 3, 2018) - Passed peacefully at home in Barrie, ON. Loving wife of 35 years to David Padmore (Deceased). Daughter of Rose Lawton (Deceased) and Herbert Lawton (Deceased). Sister to Pat Good (Dave) (Deceased) and Sheila Gilbey (Ron). Mother to Wendy Maenz (Steven), Wayne Padmore (Deceased) and Dale Padmore (Jody). Loving grandmother to Tyler and Ryan Maenz and Rowen and Ripley Padmore. Aunt to Neil West, and Victoria and Lisa Gilbey (and her son Patrick). Janice was also a loved family member to the Hopkins family and many more extended relatives by marriage, a loyal friend to all, and an amazing pet mother to many lucky furry friends – most recently to Oscar who was patiently waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.
Born in London England, Janice immigrated to Canada in 1974 at 27 years of age. Janice worked hard and was a well respected administrative professional at several companies including Sears, Eatons, and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and most recently as part of the Board of Directors at her condo complex. Janice was a born entertainer and loved people to visit just so she could cook up a storm. Along with David, they travelled and enjoyed all the world had to offer including some amazing homes. She developed a love for hockey of all things, partly due to her grandson’s involvement, but then fell in love with the Leafs and didn’t miss a game.
The family wishes to offer heartfelt thanks to everyone for all their kind words, thoughtful gifts, and condolences received. The emotional support has been overwhelming. We invite family, and those who knew her, to funeral services at Adams Funeral Home, 445 St Vincent St, Barrie, ON L4M 6T5 on Thursday March 8th, 2018. Gathering will start at noon, followed by the service at 1pm. Refreshments will follow the service. If you so desire, flowers can be sent to the funeral home, or donations can be made to the Cardiac Care Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, or choose a charity close to your heart.
