(May 12, 1940 - January 28, 2019) - Michael passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the age of 78. Known by many as Mickey, he was a beloved husband of Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (nee Power) for 58 years, and a cherished father of Bridget, Patricia, Michael (Melanie) and Kevin (Lori). He will also be remembered as a loving, adoring grandfather to Mikayla, Liam, Brendan, David, Elliott, Taylor, and Thomas. Mickey enjoyed life to its fullest, and his greatest pleasures were spending time with his family, fishing, and golfing. He especially liked to fish with his brother Jimmy, and was most at peace when roaming the hills of his favorite golf course LaHinch. Friends may pay their respects at the ADAMS FUNERAL HOME located at 445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie on Thursday, January 30, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. and again on Friday, January 31, 2019 from 2 – 2:50 p.m. with Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 3 o’clock p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe.
