James Michael Newton, passed peacefully in his 78th year, at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Newton, of 54 years, proud and loving father to his daughter Kim Newton - Schwehr (Tim) and his two sons Sean Newton (Sherry) and Jamie Newton (Michelle). Predeceased by his brother Paul Newton. Extremely dedicated and devoted grandfather to his 8 grandchildren, Miranda, Brittney, Brina, Timothy, James, Kaytlin, Kai and Ajete and great-grandfather of Layla. James will also be dearly missed by many valued family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated and caring staff of the RVH Intensive care unit, including doctors, nurses, and housekeeping.
Visitation will take place at St. John Vianney Church, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie on Saturday, August 17 from 10:00am until time of mass at 11:00am, followed by a gathering for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or OSPCA
