Formerly of Moncton, Newbrunswick. Passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Barbara for 10 years. Cherished father of Gerald (Christine), Daniel (Louise, and step-children Michael (Jenine) and Laura (Geoff). Sadly missed by Grandchildren Mathieu, Sophie, Lily, Kylie and Trevor. Survived by his four sisters and two brothers, and one brother predeceased. George leaves behind many great friends and colleagues, having retired from CN Railway after over 20 years on the job. Guests will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Road, Barrie on Saturday, December 12, from 11 am until the time of chapel service at 1 pm. A luncheon reception will be follow in the lounge. Donations in George's memory may be made to Hospice Simcoe and would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to offer very special thanks to all the caring and supportive nurses and staff of Hospice Simcoe and the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.
