McGRATH, Josephine 'Josie'

Peacefully at Hospice Simcoe on Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 at the age of 87. Predeceased by her loving husband Patrick. Honoured mother of Stephen (Brenda), Kathy (Doug), Vincent (Terri), Peter (predeceased) and Jay (predeceased). Cherished grandmother to Colin, Kathleen, Michael, Mark, Kelcey, Lauren and Jordan (predeceased), and great grandmother to Nathan, Ally, and Chloe. Survived by her brother George and sister Mary, and predeceased by her siblings Orlando, Dominic, Margaret, John and Frank. Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Sunday February 12, 2017 from 6 pm until 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, February 13 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie. Following interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, guests are invited back to the church for a reception luncheon. The family would like to extend special thanks to St. Elizabeth’s and to Hospice Simcoe for their compassionate care of Josie. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Simcoe or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
