Passed away at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie on Thursday December 17th, 2015 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee McKenzie) for 64 years. Loving father of Nancy Kelly (Jim) of Stroud, Jim McGowan (Debbie) of Barrie, Linda Shultz (Bryan) of Midhurst and Tom McGowan (Sue) of Stroud. Much loved Poppa of Leanne Hamilton, Karen Doiron, John Mitchell, Ashley Shultz, Adam Shultz, Sean McGowan, Eric McGowan, and Rachel McGowan. Step grandfather to Jennifer, Tamara and Priscilla. Great grand poppa of 4 and step grand poppa of 8. Predeceased by his sister Helen Smethurst.
