It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Scott. Scott passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on Monday, August 19, 2019 surrounded by loving family and friends at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie. Beloved husband of Melanie, cherished father of Claire, dearly loved son of Gladys Lillow and Don Lillow (Betty), devoted brother of Lindsey (Greg) and Jonathan (Jillian), and fun loving uncle of Eric, Devin, Morgan and Benjamin.
Scott lived his life to the fullest and was always up for an adventure. We were blessed to learn many lessons from Scott including the secret to great hair and how to do 100 runs in one day at Blue Mountain. He was always meticulously prepared for whatever the job, trip or event. He will be remembered for his creativity, generosity, inclusivity and the numerous causes he supported.  His impact on those who crossed his path will live on; from work colleagues who got their big break at success through Scott’s insight on their talent, to those who endured his practical jokes with a mix of frustration and laughter.  He was impossible to say no to with unfathomable powers of persuasion for all things fun!  A love of music accompanied him throughout his life, a joy he passed on to his daughter. He fulfilled a dream to live in Muskoka where family roots are deep, while keeping a piece of his heart in Collingwood, where he grew up. His unconditional love for his wife Melanie and his daughter Claire was Scott’s biggest joy.
Throughout his battle, Scott inspired many with his positive attitude and tenacity. He did this with incredible wit and determination. His ability to reach out to others with kindness and love motivated and encouraged others to do the same. He led by example.
The family would like to thank Dr. Shiva Jayaraman and Dr. Lindsay MacMillan for their tireless and compassionate care of Scott. Thank-you to Hospice Simcoe for exceptional support to Scott and his family; the staff and volunteers were outstanding and greatly appreciated.
He will continue to remain in our hearts and to quote Scott, he will be remembered as, “Keith Scott Lillow, MBA, Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Volunteer, Skier, Kappa Alpha Alumnus, Music Lover, Sipper of Stout”.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Simcoe. A private ceremony was held at Hospice Simcoe. A celebration of life will occur at a later date, details to follow.
