Peacefully passed away with family by her side at the Bob Rumball home for the Deaf on May 18, 2018 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Henry Kort. Dear mother Abel Kort (Shirley), Greta Vanderboor, Tina Eisses (Carl), Henry Kort (Susan), and Sharon Pearson. Proud grandma of 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Survived by sister Jane Elzinga. Sadly missed by many other dear family members and friends. Guests will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Rd., Barrie on Tuesday May 22, from 7 to 9 pm. Visitation will continue the following day, Wednesday May 23, at Covenant Christian Reformed Church 101 Ardagh Rd., in Barrie starting at 10 am. A celebration of Shirley’s life will follow starting at 11 am. Following a reception, interment will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Innisfil. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to Emmanuel’s Wish Foundation and are greatly appreciated.
