Passed away peacefully at Grove Park Home, Barrie on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at the age of 93. He is predeceased by just three months by his loving wife of 64 years, Isabel (Belle). He will be sadly missed by his much loved sons and families; Kirk (Claire) of Qualicum Beach, BC, Drew (Debra) of Barrie, ON, Craig (Linda) of Barrie, ON and dear family friend Reverend June Mawhinney of Toronto, ON. He was a proud and loving Grandad to Cullin, Erika, Rachel and Alec, Great Grandad to Akua. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1924, he migrated to Canada in 1951. In the years that followed, he and Belle made a good life in Canada where Bob worked at Avro Aircraft, Canadian Cash Register, owner of the Starlite Motel and retiring from the City of Barrie. Bob always had a joke to share and he never forgot to ask “how are you and the family?". Dad encouraged us to sit and rest, stop fussing and to enjoy life. We will miss his kind and gentle manner. Bobby and Belle enjoyed walking their dog along the path of Barrie's south shore. They are together again and walking side by side. The family would like to thank Dr. McTurk and the staff on Spruce floor at GPH for the wonderful care and attention they gave Dad. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
