At the age of 58 years, George passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 26, 2019. George was born in Barrie, Ontario and grew up in the small farming community of Minesing. He attended Barrie North collegiate and later on continued to University of Guelph to obtain a diploma in agriculture. George had a large circle of friends and he was loved by everyone who had met him. He was described as a selfless, kind & a humble man. He was most happiest when outdoors; whether working the fields, tending to livestock or just relaxing with family and friends. He was a very detail oriented woodworker & not so detail oriented about putting things back in their place. George was a loving husband of nearly 30 years to Blanche (nee: Hrncir) & a dedicated father to his three sons Graham (Emma), Mitchell and Cameron. George was greatly looked up to, loved by his family and friends and will be missed by everyone. In following George’s wishes, a celebration of his life with light refreshments and sharing of memories is planned for Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Tiffin Conservation Centre (8195 8th Line, Utopia, Ontario L0M 1T0) from 2-5 pm. Tributes will be shared at 2:30 pm. In memory of George, Blanche & the boys ask that donations be made to Hospice Simcoe or Minesing Community Association. The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to George’s health care team at RVH Cancer Centre, PMH, Dr. Marianne Belau, Dr. Susan Smith, Dr. Tom Yokogawa, Nurse Colleen W. and our special friend Debbie Giffen. Their care and dedication were sincere and unwavering during our time of need.
