JOHNS, Dr. David R. BASc, MD, FRCS (C)

Peacefully with family by his side at Hospice Simcoe on Monday May 28, 2018 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Joyce Johns. Dear father of Geoffrey Johns (Nola), Kathryn Ceroni (Mark), and step father of Kristen Hagerman (Fred), and Stephen James. Proud grandfather of Jack, Ella, Bianca, Spencer and Jillian. Sadly missed by other dear family and friends. David was a long standing obstetrician and gynecologist in the Barrie area having delivered thousands of children over the years. He was highly respected and will be lovingly missed and remembered. Guests will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minets Point Road., Barrie, on Friday June 1st, 2018 from 11 am until the time we celebrate David’s life in the Chapel at 1 pm. A reception will follow. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe or Collier Street United Church and are greatly appreciated by the family.
