HAYWARD, Roy

Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie at the age of 89. Pre-deceased by parents Fred & Dorothy Hayward, wife Myrtle Hayward & brother Norman Hayward. Sadly missed by his loving wife & best friend, Margaret (Peggy) Hayward, his children, Dale Hayward-Gellatly of Guelph, Rick Hayward (John) of Toronto, Norm Hayward (Georgie) of Nanaimo, his step-children, Cyndy Daniels (Chris) of Elmvale, Kerry Dove of Dallas, Steven Dove (Deanna) of Beeton. Remembered fondly by brother & sister-in-law Alex & Mary Campbell, sister-in-law Ella Hayward, 11 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren. Also dearly remembered by cousins Helen Schock (Chuck) of Florida & Edward Bradley (Robin) of Kingston. Cremation has been taken place and a Celebration of Life to honour Roy’s passing will be held at Barrie Country Club, 635 St. Vincent St N, Barrie, on Sunday, November 5th, from 2 – 5pm. Shared tributes will begin at 2pm, followed by a reception. All are welcome. Donations to Leukemia Society, Alzheimer Society or Hospice Simcoe are thankfully accepted via Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes.
