HASTINGS, Myrtle

Passed peacefully at Hospice Simcoe on Saturday June 11, 2016, in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband James (1997), parents Thomas “Emil” Stirling and Eliza Ellen “Nellie” Ford, brother Bob Stirling, son Jimmy Hastings, daughter “in love” Pearl Hastings, and her son-in-law Bud Durham. Left to mourn her loss and to always remember are her daughters Ruth Durham and Betty Archer (Don), and son Allan Hastings. Will be sadly missed by her nephew Gord Stirling, who she raised like a son, as well as many other beloved nieces and nephews. She was fruitful and multiplied to the point that her family included 16 grand children, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great great grand children who all loved her and will miss her dearly. Myrtle was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Belle Ewart Royal Canadian Legion Branch #547 and left behind many friends in the area. Guests will be received at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 201 Minet’s Point Road on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 15, from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the Chapel at 11 a.m., followed by interment at 6th Line Cemetery in Innisfil. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe and would be greatly appreciate by the family.
