After a long and fulfilling life, living throughout Canada and the United States, Gerry (or Poppa) passed away peacefully on March 15th, 2019 at the age of 93.
Born and raised in Toronto, Gerry completed a degree in biochemistry at the University of Toronto before pursuing a successful career as a brewmaster. This work led him and his wife Bernice, and their four children Daryl (Michael), Gregory (Carol), Lorraine (Brent) and Scott (Debbie), to make home in a number of cities across the continent. Gerry lived an active, social life, treasuring his daily walks and playing golf well into his eighties. A loving husband, father, grandfather to seven, and great-grandfather to two, Gerry is already dearly missed.
Our family thanks the staff at the Mill Creek Care Centre in Barrie, Ontario, for the kindness they showed Gerry (and Bernice) over the last couple of years. If desired, donations in Gerry’s memory may be directed to the Alzheimer Society.
