GOODFELLOW, Patricia Jean

It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia announces her peaceful passing at home on Saturday, September 23, 2018 at the age of 55. Patricia fought a heroic battle with breast cancer, and was an inspiration to all in her presence throughout her cancer journey. Patricia was the beloved wife of 27 years to husband Doug, and loving and cherished Mom of Theresa, Katie, Chris and Emily, and step-daughter Alyssa (Jamie). Survived by parents, John and Jean Sinclair and siblings John (Anne), Anne Marie, Mike, Peter (Ailsa), and Rosemary (Todd) all of Toronto. Patricia was adored and treasured by 16 nieces and nephews. Family meant everything to Patricia. Our hearts are heavy with loss and sadness, but full of so many memories of a life filled with joy, love and laughter.

Patricia was a teacher with the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic School Board for 29 years and a graduate of Loretto Abbey Catholic Secondary School, the University of Guelph, and the York University teacher education program.

The family would like to thank the staff of Royal Victoria Hospital and Bayshore Centre for the compassionate care they provided to Patricia. A visitation will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at Steckley-Gooderham funeral home, 30 Worsley St. in Barrie between 3:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. The funeral will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 65 Amelia St in Barrie on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00 am followed by a reception in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Victoria Foundation – Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre. Or in the spirit of Patricia’s true self, simply reach out with kindness to someone. This is what Patricia taught her students for almost 30 years, and is the beautiful legacy that we can all carry on in her name.
