It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Penny Gleason at Hospice Simcoe on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the age of 81. Predeceased by her beloved husband Neil. Cherished mother of Michael (Angela), Tim (Adriana), the late Kate (Arn) and the late Bill (Lisa). Proud and loving grandma of Christine, Nickolas, Shauna (Rob), Joshua, Elizabeth (Spencer), Tom, Mitchell, Jessica (Abhi), Lexi, Cameron, Jenna and Noah. Will be sadly missed and always remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and life-long friends in the Barrie area. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie. Following the service, guests are invited to visit and share memories of Penny during a reception luncheon in the Parish Hall. Cremation has taken place, with arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. McConvey and Dr. Nay, as well as to the amazing staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe. In lieu of flowers, donations to Gilda's Club or Hospice Simcoe would be greatly appreciated.
