Passed peacefully at IOOF Barrie on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the age of 89. Loving husband of Muriel (nee Rolston) for 66 years. Honoured father of Kathryn Chirametli and Michael Gamble (Dianne). Cherished grandfather to Lauren (Dan), Cassandra, Nicholas and great-grandfather to Charlotte. Throughout his life, Ted was fond of outdoor life and particularly enjoyed his time amongst friends and family in Bolger, near Parry Sound. In the early 1980’s, Ted’s passion for boating kept him close to the water as Commodore of the Lefroy Yacht Club and executive member of Big Bay Point Yacht Club. Ted retired in his early 60’s to Sandy Cove Acres, Innisfil, after a career as a Registered Industrial Accountant for GM in London, McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in Malton, and later for Government Services Canada. The family has invited guests to join them in celebrating Ted’s life at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. A period of visitation will take place from 10 am until the time of service in the Chapel at 11 am, and will be followed by a reception luncheon and time of fellowship in the lounge. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
