“Our rock has been dislodged”

After 85 years of strong, silent guidance Stew has left to rejoin his late wife Valerie. Whether an employee at Westburne, Thomas Electric, or another of his entrepreneurial endeavours, a fellow employee or student during his retirement years at Sinton Bus Lines, or especially, those blessed enough to call themselves family or friend, all were made better by Stew’s north facing moral compass, honesty and hard work ethic. His helping hands will be missed but the difference he has made in our world will live on. Stew directly influenced his late wife Valerie, his children Tom (spouse Jackie), Kathie (spouse Peter), Cindy (spouse Craig), grandchildren Chris, Molly, Rob, Amber, Alex, Evan, Scott, Emily, and great grand children, Gabe, Summer, Claire, Jack, and Lexi. Guests will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday August 31, from 10 am until the time we celebrate his life in the chapel at 11 am. A reception will follow. Following the reception interment will take place at St. Thomas Anglican cemetery, Shanty Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe, the Canadian Cancer Society or a meaningful charity in your life and are greatly appreciated.
