It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Charles E. Edward in his 84th year on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Chateau Gardens, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Predeceased by his beloved wife Camilla (nee Coyle) Edward, and sister Margaret Coyle. Loving father of Ann Marie (Ken McLeod), Charlie (Cathy), Debra (Gene Botman), Tom and Linda. Devoted grandpa to Shannon (Jake Forde), Connor, Charlie, Rob, Mike (Laina), Sarah, Chris, Jake, Laine, Channelle, Ashley, Tiffany, Graham and Martin. Survived by his dear sister Sally (Jack Mitchinson) and Mary-Louise Julian and brother-in-law Michael Ambrose Kelly.
Chuck spent most of his years in Barrie, and retirement in Wasaga Beach. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his big smile, gentle ways, devotion to his beloved wife and dance partner Millie. He was deeply devoted to his family and was known for his passion for sports and his great love of horses.
A special thank you to the staff of Chateau Gardens in Niagara-On-The-Lake for keeping a watchful eye on dad over the past 2 years, and to the staff at The Orchards in Vineland 4 years prior. We would like to express our deep gratitude for their care and support of our father throughout these years.
Friends and family will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 for a service in the chapel starting at 11am. Visitation from 10am.
