Peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, on September 9, 2018. Pre-deceased by parents Clint and Connie Eccles. He is survived by his sister Sandra Duff (Bruce), nephew Trevor Schouwstra (Manisha), step-nieces, nephews and many cousins. Charlie was an avid sport fisherman and avid walker. Many people in the downtown and waterfront of Barrie would always acknowledge him with a wave or hello. Special thanks for the staff at the hospital for their competence, caring and respect shown to Charles during his last days. His sister thanks all his fishing “buddies” for the happiness they brought to Charlie’s life. He fought numerous battles with Prostate Cancer for 18 years but lost the war. His sister wishes that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Prostate Cancer Research, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre or Hospice Simcoe, of which he was registered. Private family arrangements have taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home.
