DEITCH, John 'Joe'

It is with sadness that the family of John (Joe) Deitch announce his death on August 11th, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Center. A beautiful spirit, Joe was loved by many with whom he came in contact as he navigated this life with gentleness and openness, engaged easily with others and had a great capacity to enjoy all that life had to offer him. A long time resident in housing provided by the Simcoe Community Services, Joe had many friends and very much enjoyed the companionship of these friends while engaging in a wide variety of activities available to him. In fact, these friends and staff with the Simcoe Community Services were family members to Joe, and in his last days, their visits were blessings. Jamie and Patty, his remaining siblings, will miss him deeply but are so grateful for the years we had this special person in our lives. There are not sufficient words to express thankfulness to the Simcoe Community Services for the many ways they enriched Joe’s life. The staff at 8 Murray Street went above and beyond. Also, thanks to the staff of the Cardiac Renal Unit at RVH and the medical staff who attended Joe. Their expertise and sensitivity will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held in Joe's honour at 8 Murray Street on Tuesday August 14 at 11 AM. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Simcoe Community Services or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be left at www.steckleygooderham.com
