Peacefully at Grove Park Home in Barrie on Friday November 16, 2018 at the age of 95.
Beloved husband of the late Josephine Dawney for 64 years. Loving and devoted father of Gail Douglas (Chris), Gwen Dermott-Ainscough (Craig) (late Randy Dermott), and Brian Dawney (Debbie). Proud and loving grandpa of Tammy, John, Brad, Nathan, Tyler, Kyle, Kelan and great grandpa of Christopher, Mariah, Brooklyn, Reed, Barrett, Adelyn and Keaton. Survived by brothers Geoff Dawney (Barb), Lance Dawney (late Jess) and Clive Dawney (Joan). Predeceased by sister Rosemary Worsnop.
Guests will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Tuesday November 20, 2018 from 11 am until the time we celebrate Lionel’s life in the chapel starting at 12 pm. A reception will follow.
