Dave-Final

It is with so much sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandad on December 26, 2016, to be with the lord. Dave leaves behind his wife for over 50 years, Val, sons Paul (Tammy) and Steven (Dani). Also, his greatest joys, grandchildren, Noah, his angel on earth, Harper and Trysten and Sofya. He also leaves his sisters Margaret (Pete) from Whitchurch, Bristol and Ruth (John) from the village of Minty, Swindon. Dave will also be greatly missed by his Uncle Ray and very good friend, Paul Gay from Wales. The love and devotion Dave had for his family was one that could not be measured but rather observed. Everything he did centered around his family to show his love and devotion. He was Kind, loving and patient and this never waivered, even during his struggle with cancer. Anyone that knew Dave would know he would do anything for anyone, especially if it meant he could make things a little easier. Dave was born in Burghfield, England in 1943. His chosen profession was as an electrical engineer which he loved and excelled at. In 1966 he married the love of his life, Val. Dave and Val retired at a young age and in 1998 moved to Canada from the United Kingdom to follow their sons and they never looked back. Dave’s family would like to thank so many people. Just to name a few; Dr. Leendert Vanzyl and his wonderful staff, especially his nurse, Lisanne who went above and beyond to ensure Dave was comfortable. Julie from CCAC…you always made him smile. Pastor Matthew Ruttan and his church family from Westminster Presbyterian Church for your prayers and comfort. Your love, and support meant more to Dave and his family than you will ever know. A Celebration of Dave`s Life will be held on Tuesday January 3, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 170 Steel Street, Barrie at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. In leu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Deacon`s Fund would be more than appreciated.
