BURKETT, Olivia Inez Sarah (nee Devall)

Passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe on Monday, November 14, 2016 in her 96th year. She leaves behind her husband Roy. Retired superintendent from O.P.P. Mother of Suzanne Devall (California). Predeceased by her grandson Derrick Turnbull (2007). Fondly remembered by her best friends Marie and Dorothy, and her many nieces and nephews of the Skidmore family. Also remembered by many students that she taught in dress design at various schools throughout the province where her husband was posted. Sincere thanks to Dr. Bruce McTurk, Dr. Roy Hyslop and the Staff at Hospice Simcoe for their dedication and assistance towards Olivia’s illness. After years of intense pain, she now rests in the arms of her beloved grandma. At Oliva’s request, there will be no funeral service. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Interment at the Devall Family site in the Woodlands Cemetery, Hamilton. Donations in Olivia’s name may be made to the O.S.P.C.A- Barrie Branch, and would be appreciated by the family, as Olivia had a love for animals.
