BURGAR, John

John Douglas Burgar, born December 21, 1932, died on November 21, 2018 at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn, his children Michael (Patti Vernon) and Laura (Jeff Graham) and his sister, Mary Holt. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Rodgers.

Born in Toronto, John started his career as a litigation lawyer there. He moved with his family in 1974 to Barrie, where he practised law until his retirement in 1998. Throughout his life, he spent summers at a beloved family cottage near Dwight on Lake of Bays.

There will be a Celebration of Life event at the MacLaren Art Centre, 37 Mulcaster Street, Barrie, on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 4:30 pm.

The family extends thanks to Dr. Chris Martin and the medical treatment team.
