Passed away peacefully at Grove Park Home in Barrie on Wednesday May 2, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 89. Predeceased by her beloved husband Art Brinkworth (1994), and her daughter Kelly Madden (2016). She is survived by her daughters Leslie McKinlay (Arch) and Kathryn Sowsun (Steve). Loving Gran to Nathan McKinlay (Amanda Myers), Greg McKinlay (Lara), Nick Sowsun, Alex Sowsun (Kristina), Meghan Sowsun, Tyler Madden, Olivia Jones (Korey) and Jocelyn Madden. Great Gran to 5 great grandchildren. Only living sibling is Alice Binder. Elinor was born on April 14, 1929 and raised in Gravenhurst along with 2 brothers and 5 sisters. After graduation she enrolled in nursing at Toronto Western Hospital where she earned her RN. Afterwards, she moved to Montreal to become an airline stewardess for TCA. Elinor met Art, and they were married. They raised 3 children in various parts of the West Island of Montreal, and then Huntington, Quebec. In 1979 they moved to Midhurst, where Elinor was involved in the Maycourt Club, and a faithful member and Altar Guild person of Trinity Anglican church. She was an excellent cook, a wonderful storyteller, and a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Interment will be in Midhurst Union Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the JENNETT FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE, 152 Bradford Street in Barrie.
