Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with loving family at his side. Bill Bolger in his 88th year, loving husband of Maura (O’Toole) and the late Lois (Miller). Proud father of Peter (Shelley) Bolger, Anne (Gerry) Pilon, Michael (Shelley) Bolger, Barbara O’Toole (Mike Scott), Doug (Jennifer) O’Toole and Susan O’Toole. Grandfather of Nathan and Noah Bolger, Luke, Laurel and Chloe Pilon, Matthew and Benjamin Bolger, Kathleen and Sam Scott, Adrian and Bronwyn O’Toole. Bill will also be remembered by his brother Harold (Vivian) Bolger and his sisters-in-law Sheila (the late Peter) Bolger, Gladys Miller and Joyce (the late Bruce) Johnston. Predeceased by his brothers Tom (the late Patricia), Mike, Jack (the late Vivian) and sister-in-law Audrey Miller. Bill will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill had a distinguished career as the Director of Education with the Catholic School System (now the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board). Building the French Catholic education program and expanding Catholic Secondary education in Simcoe County are some of Bill’s greatest accomplishments. Friends and family will be received at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME, 445 St. Vincent St. Barrie (just north of Cundles Rd.) on Friday, February 26 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held virtually at 10 o’clock on Saturday, February 27, 2021 through the following link https://www.facebook.com/st.marysbarrie/live Interment St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Princess Margaret Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
In accordance to directives put in place by provincial governing bodies and the Public Health Unit there will be a limit on the number of people permitted into Adams Funeral Home at one time. Please note that wearing a facial covering and adhering to physical distancing directives is mandatory. No gathering is permitted in the funeral home or church parking lots please.
