BINNENDYK, Edith (nee Bouius)

Passed away, August 14, 2016, surrounded by family at the Hospice Simcoe, Barrie, Ontario. Beloved wife to Dirk for 62 years (predeceased in 2013). Beloved mother to Bill & Pam, Jerry & Aino-May, Richard & Myra, Nell & Rick, Harry, Wendy & Brent. Proud Oma to 17 grandchildren, great-Oma to 10 +. Survived by 2 terrific brothers and their wives and a special sister and their families who have been a constant support during her battle with cancer.   A special thanks to Martin Luimstra and the many others for their support and care. Thanks to Dr. Kelly Emerson and   the wonderful Hospice care team. Born March 16, 1929 in Augustinusga, Friesland, Netherlands. Emigrated to Canada, Barrie area in 1948, married to Dirk Binnendyk, March 16, 1951. Edith enjoyed many years as a successful realtor. Edith constantly shared her faith in Jesus with everyone she met. Her fun loving, contagious personality and warm hospitable ways will be fondly remembered. Visitation is 7-9 pm, Thursday, August 18 at Adams Funeral Home, 445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie.   Celebration of life will be held on Friday August 19, 2016 at Hi-Way Pentecostal Church at 2 pm. Visitation 1-1:45 pm. Light lunch to follow.
