In his 100th year, Dee passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on July 21st, 2021. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Norene (2013), who were married for 67 years. Lovingly remembered by his children Elaine Fisher (Pam Burke), Brian (Charlene Bessin), and Doug (Lorraine). Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Jeffrey, Todd, Tara, Bradley, Alexander, Andrew, Laura, Sara, Todd, Joel, Evan, Alyssa, Eric, and of 24 great grandchildren. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed life to the fullest, always there to share his wit and humor and was lovingly adored by all who knew him.
A private family service will be held at the Barrie Union Cemetery on Friday, July 30th, 2021 at 1 p.m., with arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. If desired, donations in Dewitt’s memory may be made to the Simcoe Terrace Retirement Home, 44 Donald St., Barrie.
