Suddenly on Friday November 23rd at his home at 88 years. Bill was born in Detroit on April 13th, 1929. At 3 years he would return with his mother and father and reside in the Toronto area, later moving to Barrie and Innisfil ON., where he would live out his last 15 years. Bill spent most of his career in sales, becoming the first travelling salesman for Cooper Weeks sporting goods in 1952, where he would stay until 1969 finishing his career at Cooper as manager of the Atlantic golf equipment division. His later years in sales would include real estate and industrial chemicals.

Beloved husband of Lillian Dobson (and previously of Marilyn June Moore). Loving father of Steve (Karen), Ken (Karen), Deb Hoselton (Joel), and step-father of Debra Abate (Lou) and Lynn Scott (Mark). Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Steven, Robert, Ashley, Tonya, Daryl (Kayla) and Michelle (Andy), and great-grandchildren; Rileigh, Paighton, Skylar, Abree, Tessa and Brooks.

Over the years, Bill would enjoy his time and membership at Islington G & CC, where he would spend weekends with his friends golfing, although it would be two courses he was visiting where he would get his hole in one’s. As well Bill enjoyed his time at the family cottage on Lake Simcoe and watching his family grow.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, May 10th, 2019 from 1 – 3 pm. Guests are invited to join family and friends in sharing memories and a reception luncheon in the Lounge. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated by the family.
