ASTRIDGE, Kenneth

Passed away on Friday May 10th, 2019 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre at the age of 95. Ken was a World War II Veteran serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Dragoons starting in 1942, until he was discharged in March of 1946. Ken is predeceased by his wife Norma, brothers Emerson and Harvey, his sisters Gwen and Thelma, and by his great grand daughter Chelsea Ann. Ken is survived by his daughter Wendy and son Ken, brother Doug (Mary), and sister Freda. Ken will be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Melanie (Dave), Glen (Leslie), Laurie (Keith), and Scott (Stephanie) as well as six great grandchildren, Robert, Steven, Damon, Alissa, Ava, and Christopher. Ken will also be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 from 11 a.m. until the time we celebrate Ken’s life in the Chapel at 1 p.m., with interment to follow at Barrie Union Cemetery, 308 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the RVH Cancer Centre or Cardiac Care Unit. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the physicians, nurses and staff at RVH who cared for Ken over the last two weeks.
