With an overwhelming sense of loss, we announce the peaceful passing of Kay Arbuthnot-Pratt on Sunday January 29 in her home. She has left behind her daughters, Deana and Susan, sons-in-law Graham and Pat, grandchildren Corby (Connie), Dyson, Patrick and Kelly and great-grandchildren Courtney, Cyan and Macayla to carry on her legacy of grace, integrity and spirit. She will also be fondly remembered by Kristen (Lee) and Evan (Karen). We were blessed to have had her for 95 wonderful years and we rest easy knowing she is with her devoted husbands Dean Arbuthnot and J. Murray Pratt, her brothers Dr. Robert J. Delaney and Rev. Lloyd Delaney, parents William & Margaret Delaney and so many family and friends who have gone before her. She was a lady of kindness and compassion and she gathered many friends to her over the years. They will miss her terribly. As a lifelong resident of Barrie, she was involved with various organizations and committees including RVH, Salvation Army, Oddfellows, Shrine Club, Horticultural Society, SPCA and CNIB. Special thanks to Dr. Charles Vanderwater for taking such exceptional care of her. Also to the wonderful staff at the Waterford. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the CNIB as she was an active member since 1992. Friends will be welcomed to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 1 pm until the time we celebrate Kay’s life in the Chapel at 2 pm. Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the Lounge.
