ALFANO, Carmenlita (Carmie) Elizabeth (nee Hunt)

(1929-2017) - Peacefully on Saturday, May 6th 2017 at the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf in Barrie following a years long struggle. Mom will be so sadly missed by her son Nick and daughters Janet Hynd (Allan) and Gina Thompson (Mike); grandchildren Peter and Anna Hynd, Sean Thompson and Victoria Alfano. Formidable and independent, even through her illness, we are so very proud to have belonged to her. Predeceased by her husband James (2000) and survived by her sister-in-law Lisa Panetta and her family. A graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery (305 Erskine Avenue, Toronto) on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. We will always be grateful for the loving care and friendship from the staff and residents at Georgian Traditions in Collingwood and recently the staff at the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf in Barrie. We know you loved her too. Thank you also to her loving, caring friends for your endless support. So sorry the journey has come to an end. Rest in peace Mom.
