WATERLOO, Ont. — Receiver Richmond Nketiah caught two touchdown passes and the Waterloo Warriors staved off a fourth-quarter comeback attempt to beat the Toronto Varsity Blues 28-23 in U Sports football action on Saturday.
Lucas McConnell completed 18-of-25 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown and Tre Ford threw for 13 yards and a score for Waterloo (2-0).
Clay Segueira led the offence for Toronto (1-1), throwing for a touchdown and running in another. Sequiera was also intercepted twice.
The Varsity Blues put up nine points in the fourth quarter capped by Segueira's 18-yard TD run with 1:40 to play. Their two-point conversion attempt failed.
