BARRIE and NEW YORK, N.Y. – Engel & Völkers is celebrating the launch of its newest real-estate shop in Barrie, marking the occasion with a grand-opening event held on June 28.

Led by licence partner Jeremy Brooks, Engel & Völkers now provides leading real-estate service to home buyers and sellers in Barrie and the townships of Simcoe County including Essa-Angus, Springwater, Oro-Medonte, Innisfil, Cookstown, Thornton and Orillia.

The grand opening was held at the brokerage’s new shop, centrally located directly across from city hall at 63 Collier St., and was attended by 80 guests including clients, business partners, friends and special guests Jeff Lehman, mayor, City of Barrie, Hellaina Rothenburg, district developer, Special Olympics Ontario, and Graeme Thomas, athlete, Special Olympics Ontario.

“The grand opening of Engel & Völkers Barrie celebrates a valuable addition to our impressive expansion not only in Canada but throughout the Americas,” said Anthony Hitt, president & CEO of Engel & Völkers Americas. “Under Jeremy’s leadership, this brokerage has absolute synergy with our brand’s values and will define the luxury segment in this growing market with their dedication to delivering an unparalleled level of service to buyers and sellers.”

Barrie’s large selection of amenities and services is a rarity as it’s one of the few cities in central Ontario that lies on a freshwater lake, allowing for ideal small town living by combining urban and cottage country living.

Residents can participate in recreational seasonal activities including boating, skiing and cycling, while its close proximity and convenient commute to and from the Greater Toronto Area are causing the market to see a steady stream of cross-buyer traffic. Currently, diverse properties being sold include waterfront homes, single-family homes, luxury condos, century homes, equestrian properties and ski-in chalets.

“Barrie has been undergoing a healthy and steady growth phase over the last 10 years,” said Brooks. “Sellers are seeking higher levels of service and global exposure when putting their properties onto the market, and I knew Engel & Völkers’ values, recognition and resources would give my business the edge it needed to go above and beyond in satisfying my clients’ needs. This grand opening celebrates the unmatched standard of service our shop is committed to providing Barrie and its surrounding communities.”
