Beginning this week, we are going to introduce you to some of the people whose bylines you see with regularity, but maybe you don't know much else about the person behind those news stories.

This week, Orillia-based reporter Tyler Evans, whose work also regularly appears on BarrieToday.com, tells you his story about how he got into the news business. He began his journey at the age of 15 at the Sunshine City's former daily newspaper, The Packet & Times, before heading off to college to study broadcasting. Now, at age 24, Tyler is one of the key players in our regional news coverage.

Congratulations Mark S., winner of a $50 gift card from Bacio Trattoria!

Thank you to all of our +members who attended our exclusive Ask The Money Lady event featuring Canadian author, syndicated news columnist and financial expert Christine Ibbotson. It was great to see so many people register and take advantage of a very informative hour. Keep watching for more +member events like this.

Last week, reporter Bob Bruton took a closer look at how we have been trying to fill our days during the pandemic. This has meant filling our time with some unusual or new endeavours while keeping a safe distance from each other.

Also, regional editor Dave Dawson highlighted the efforts of area residents who are doing whatever they can to make life more enjoyable for everyone during the lockdown. That includes a couple who created an outdoor playground for everyone to enjoy on Lake Couchiching.
