Travel is top-of-mind for many but there are numerous questions surrounding the ‘new normal’ where travel is concerned. Join us for a virtual sit down with Garth Lund, the Chief Commercial Officer of Flair Airlines, to discuss what travellers can now expect.

What safety precautions are airlines taking? How has the pandemic changed the travel industry? Is travelling cheaper now? Answer these questions and more on Nov 25 at 12 p.m. All webinar attendees will receive a discount code from Flair Air.

One call can change everything. In this week's Everything King, Wendy King looks for the funny in the frightening.

BarrieToday reporter Nikki Cole has always been a dog person, but hopes people don't make rush decisions over the holidays to bring a pet home if they aren't 100 per cent committed to him or her. Because this is the time of year when people make big decisions that will affect them for years to come, so make sure it's the right one.

And if you missed it, here's what happened last week:

Congratulations Patricia J., winner of a $50 gift card from Cocina Mexicana.

Last week, following the passing of Jack Garner, city hall reporter Bob Bruton recalls his days going to Garner Sports in downtown Barrie and the high level of service that was always provided to a pickup league goaltender. "Being a practical fellow, I like fair prices for excellent sports gear and that pretty much defined Garner Sports," Bob writes.

As well, regular columnist Wendy King chimed in with her two cents on the much-talked-about pink building in downtown Barrie. "I didn’t want to weigh in right away, as I honestly wasn’t sure what to think of it," Wendy says. "My first impression was that it was very loud and maybe a bit gaudy, but then I am not a ‘pink' person, either."
