CAMBRIDGE – The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced its Players of the Week for the week of Aug. 5-11.

Barrie Baycats infielder Kevin Atkinson was named Hitter of the Week. In three games, Atkinson hit .667 (8-for-12) with a home run, five RBI and five runs. In addition to leading the IBL in average after the first week of playoffs, Atkinson is tops in on-base percentage (.733), fourth in slugging (1.000), and second in OPS (1.733).

Atkinson's teammate Matthew St. Kitts was named top pitcher after flirting with a no-hitter in the Baycats' 10-0 Game 2 win over Brantford Aug. 10. St. Kitts didn't allow a hit until two outs in the eighth inning and settled for a complete-game four-hitter with a walk and seven strikeouts.
